Cavanagh Design is based in Rhode Island and provides services through the Northeast US and Canada, and Ireland.
Landscape Architecture
Michael is a Registered Landscape Architect in the state of RI.
Landscape Architecture services include consulting, CAD, conceptual designs, sketch-up and planning services. All landscape planning begins with client intake, a property analysis and a responding theory of change to invoke landscape creativity and evolution of use.
Arboriculture
Michael has been a RI licensed arborist since 1995.
Arboriculture services include inventories, treatments, protection strategy planning, and selection.
Painting/Drawing
Michael started professional training as a landscape painter. This view of the world underlines all elements of design planning in both the built environment and the natural environment. Hand drawing and painting continue to inform a personal aesthetic in design.
Geomancy
Geomancy practice represents a multidisciplinary knowledge system of land energy observation, analysis and remediation that applies to all natural and built conditions. It has roots in every human culture and all land work history. Dowsing, Feng Shui, Genus Loci, Sacred Geometry and Sacred Sites represent some of its many forms.
Invasive Plant Management
RI Certified Invasive Plant Management Certification promotes identification and treatment procedures for aggressive and exotic species. It also provides for expanded allowances in work permitted through the RI Coastal Resource Management Council.
Project Management
Michael brings thirty plus years of diverse design work and site work to a highly articulated level of project implementation and management. Large and small scale projects range from residential installations to large land development projects.
